5G looks like it’s the next best thing in tech, but it’s really a Trojan horse for harming humanity

Many so-called “experts” are claiming that it’ll be a huge step forward for innovation in everything from manufacturing and transportation, to medicine and beyond. But in reality, 5G technology represents an existential threat to humanity – a “phony war” on the people who inhabit this planet we call Earth, and all in the name of “progress.”

Writing for GreenMedInfo, Claire Edwards, a former editor and trainer in intercultural writing for the United Nations (U.N.), warns that 5G might end up being the straw that breaks the camel’s back in terms of the state of public health. Electro-hypersensitivity (EHS), she says, could soon become a global pandemic as a result of 5G implementation, with people developing severe health symptoms that inhibit their ability to live normal lives.

This “advanced” technology, Edwards warns, involves the use of special “laser-like beams of electromagnetic radiation,” or EMR, that are basically blasted “from banks of thousands of tiny antennas” installed all over the place, typically on towers and poles located within just a couple hundred feet of one another.

While she still worked for the U.N., Edwards tried to warn her superiors about the dangers of 5G EMR, only to have these petitions fall on deaf ears. This prompted her to contact the U.N. Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, who then pushed the World Health Organization (WHO) to take a closer look into the matter – though this ended up being a dead end as well.

Elon Musk is planning to launch 4,425 5G satellites in to Earth’s orbit THIS JUNE

Edwards worries particularly about 5G implementation in space, as existing space law is so woefully inadequate that countries all around the world, including the U.S., will likely blanket the atmosphere in 5G equipment, turning our entire planet into an EMR hell.

Elon Musk of Tesla fame is one such purveyor of 5G technology who’s planning to launch an astounding 4,425 5G satellites in to Earth’s orbit by June 2019. This means that, in a matter of just a few months, 5G will be everywhere and completely inescapable.

“There are no legal limits on exposure to EMR,” Edwards writes.

“Conveniently for the telecommunications industry, there are only non-legally enforceable guidelines such as those produced by the grandly named International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection, which turns out to be like the Wizard of Oz, just a tiny little NGO in Germany that appoints its own members, none of whom is a medical doctor or environmental expert.”

Edwards sees 5G implementation as eventually leading to a “catastrophe for all life in Earth” in the form of “the last great extinction.” She likens it to a “biological experiment” representing the “most heinous manifestation of hubris and greed in human history.”

There’s already evidence to suggest that 5G implementation in a few select cities across the United States, including in Sacramento, California, is causing health problems for people who live near 5G equipment. At firehouses where 5G equipment was installed, for instance, firefighters are reporting things like memory problems and confusion.

Some people are also reporting reproductive issues like miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as nosebleeds and insomnia, all stemming from the presence of 5G transmitters.

Edwards encourages folks to sign The Stop 5G Appeal if they care about protecting people, animals, insects, and the planet from this impending 5G assault.

“Our newspapers are now casually popularizing the meme that human extinction would be a good thing, but when the question becomes not rhetorical but real, when it’s your life, your child, your community, your environment that is under immediate threat, can you really subscribe to such a suggestion?” Edwards asks.

These Spartan Hi-Tech Boxer Briefs Shield Your Junk from Radiation

Ready to de-radiate your nuts? The Spartan Underwear, designed in Paris, was on display at Las Vegas’ Consumer Electronics Show on Sunday. The company promises to shield the wearer’s genitals from electromagnetic radiation in a bid to improve male fertility.

“We’re bringing to underwear the same advanced technology used in spacesuits,” Arthur Menard, co-founder and CEO of the company, said in a promotional video.

The underwear essentially works as a Faraday cage for your crotch. The designuses pure silver fibers in the boxer’s cotton, which the company claims can block over 99 percent of cellphone and Wi-fi radiation. The material also has the added benefit of cutting down on the spread of bacteria.

Silver undies sound like a challenge, and Spartan is keen to stress the engineering effort that went into these:

The hard part was to manage to integrate the Silver Fiber in the cotton of the boxer without losing elasticity or creating a rigid fabric. We wanted to shield our little soldiers, but definitely not to wear armor. It took use months of work and hundreds of prototypes and different fabrics to get it just right, but with WaveTech we finally manage to create a fabric that is even more comfortable than your regular pair of undies.

The team at CES 2018.

These silver shorts have been a long time coming. Funded by an Indiegogocampaign back in January 2016, the team raised over $20,000 to bring its product to market. The company made waves at last year’s CES when they demonstrated the underwear to the packed Vegas halls. Since then, the team has had the product certified by Maryland-based MET Laboratories in June 2017, meeting the IEEE 299-2006 standard that measures the effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding enclosures for frequencies between 9kHz and 18GHz.

Whether electromagnetic waves decrease male fertility is up for debate. Timothy J. Jorgensen of Georgetown University has said that studies that show this tend to come from “lower-tier journals of questionable quality.” A spokesperson for Spartan told Inverse during last year’s show that wearing the boxers is “an act of prevention that doesn’t change anyone’s habit so why not try it?”

The boxers ship in either black or blue, with five sizes ranging from small to extra-extra large. Prices start at €32 ($38.32) per boxer for a €320 pack of 10, rising to €42 ($50.29) for a single pair. Delivery to the United States costs $6.31 for one boxer, but shipping is free for orders over $125.

They Said Microwaves Were Bad For You, But THIS is What They Didn’t Tell You

Did you know that over 90% of American homes regularly use microwave ovens for meal preparation?

Microwave ovens pulse electromagnetic waves through food, exciting the molecules and causing them to move, vibrate and heat up as they respond to the microwave radiation.
It is a device called a  Magnetron in the microwave oven that produces wave energy. This wave energy converts polarity of molecules from positive to negative. This polarity changes millions of times every second in the microwave oven. Microwaves bombard the food molecules and makes the polarized molecules to radiate at the same frequency millions of times every second. This heats the food but at the same time  causes ‘structural isomerism’ – structural damage of the food molecules.
A Swiss study led by biologist and food scientist Dr. Hans Hertel identified the effects of microwaved food. For eight weeks, eight people lived in a controlled environment and intermittently ate raw foods, conventionally cooked foods and microwaved foods. Blood samples were tested after each meal. The microwaved food caused significant changes in blood chemistry.

The Dangers of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF)

Have you ever wondered why food is often unevenly heated when you remove it from the microwave?
This happens because microwaves work with whatever water molecules are present, and since not all areas of food contain the same amount of water, heating becomes uneven.
A study conducted at Stanford University investigated the effects of microwaving breast milk. One of the scientists stated “Microwaving human milk, even at a low setting, can destroy some of its important disease-fighting capabilities.” They claimed that besides heating, there were many other disturbing alterations in the milk
In early 1991, a lawsuit was filed against an Oklahoma hospital after a patient died from receiving blood that was heated in a microwave oven.
In 1976, Russia banned microwaves because of their negative effect on health and wellbeing.
Eating food processed from a microwave oven causes permanent brain damage by “shorting out” electrical impulses in the brain.
The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.
Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit. Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths (tumors). This may explain the rapid increased rate of colon cancer in America.
Continual ingestion of microwaved food causes immune system deficiencies through lymph gland and serum alterations.
Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence. Microwaving milk and cereal grains converted some of their amino acids into carcinogens.
Thawing frozen fruits converted their glucoside and galactoside containing fractions into carcinogenic substances. Extremely short exposure of raw, cooked or frozen vegetables converted their plant alkaloids into carcinogens.
In summary, its becoming more apparent that microwaves and microwave cause cancer and other malicious diseases. They have the power to destroy the goodness in our food and weaken our bodies.

We should all be thinking about permanently getting rid of them.

The Microwave Drug: The Biological and Spiritual Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation

The Microwave Drug: The Biological and Spiritual Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation

History in a nutshell

Post WW-II military radar applications led to the 2.45 GHz household microwave oven. The same microwave radiation is now used to communicate. Recently Australia’s spectrum was sold off to telcos. Desirable blocks including 700 MHz or 0.7 GHz (penetration), 900MHz and 2.6 GHz (data throughput) bands were acquired. [2] Microwave exposure limits around the world in 2016 are based on obsolete military-derived thermal effects limits. According to the standards if your flesh does not cook you are ‘safe’. Yet adverse biological effects occur at exquisitely low levels of exposure. [3]

Suckled on the microwave teat

Like a drug, the wireless paradigm is alluring. We have access to information wherever we are. We are constantly ‘connected’. Higher power density (radiation) 5G is coming in 2020, enabling the simultaneous wireless download of 20+ videos rather than ‘only’ one or two.

The downside is, as technology burgeons a growing number of us are getting sick (3-5% of Europeans). [4] Chronic illnesses (for example bacterial infections) are amplified. Background radiation alters our biology (analogous to passive smoking). Our unique signature electromagnetic field and brainwaves are overlayed and potentially ‘entrained’ in a similar way that a binaural beat hypnotic track helps us to doze off to sleep. Transhumanism is here! Why don’t we just get on with it and embed a 24/7 radiation emitting smart chip in every newborn? [5]

I call spiritual effects of microwave radiation the sense of confusion, separation and being without intuitive guidance. When we are in that state we feel ‘uncentred’ or ‘disconnected.’ Yogis are aware of this distorted state and link it functionally to the sixth and seventh chakras. Anatomically these chakras connect to the pineal and pituitary glands. The pineal gland is tucked deep inside the skull and has blood flow second only to that of the kidney. [6] It produces the serotonin derived hormone melatonin, crucial for sleep modulation and creates biochemicals tryptophan, tryptamine and pinoline. Due to structural association to melatonin DMT (dimethyltryptamine) may be made in the pineal. DMT has been described as the Spirit Molecule and is connected to mystical experiences and visions reported by near death experience survivors. Recently DMT (dimethyltryptamine) was found in the pineal gland of live rats to supplement this association. [7]

I also consider spiritual effects from the perspective of electromagnetic field entrainment. Our body-mind is constantly transmitting-receiving electromagnetically. Someone walks into the room and suddenly we get a tingle up our spine. This is an electromagnetic transmission. Our DNA is a fractal antenna and therefore receives all frequencies on the spectrum. This phenomenon also makes DNA susceptible to electromagnetic radiation pollution. Nature (including us as part of Nature) produces non-linear sinusoidal waveforms. If they are overlaid with linear-synthetic, rectangular pulsed modulated radiation emissions from antenna towers and devices it may lead to an incoherent, discordant (think noise!) personal energy field. This is particularly evident in those with energy fields which are not robust or in other words those susceptible due to existing illness. [8] Wellness begins in our energy field!

Cumulative effects and project bizarre

A biophysicist at Northrop Space Laboratories in California prepared a paper called ‘Biological Entrainment of the Human Brain by Low-Frequency Radiation’. If the body’s biological clock was related to electrical impulses called alpha rhythms then could electromagnetic fields alter that clock? [9] The file went to the acting director of the Advanced Sensors program of the Advanced Research Projects Agency. Project Pandora was initiated to discover whether very low level microwave signals could direct the mind. [10]

A research facility was assembled and a signal of 2.2–4.0 GHz (common emission frequency from antennas around the world) with power levels up to 5mW/cm² generated. These were exposure levels lower than the US limit 10mW/cm². The chimp had been trained to perform specific tasks. After the first week of 10 hours per day exposure the chimp successfully completed the tasks. On the twelfth day a slowdown of the chimp’s work function occurred. On the thirteenth day the test animal stopped working and appeared to be in a deep sleep for two days until the radiation was turned off. It then returned to the work function over the next five days. The radiation signal was again switched on and this time the chimp slowed down in eight days and stopped and went into a deep sleep. They left the chimp like this for three days and when they ceased irradiating it did ‘not return to normal’. [11] Given the results the new code name became Project Bizarre. Researchers noted ‘potential of exerting a degree of control on human behaviour by low-level microwave radiation’ and that the US needed to overhaul radiation exposure standards to take into account ‘non-thermal damage potential’. [12]

Mitigating health damage with exposure limits 100 times lower

In the 50s the Soviets developed the LIDA machine to match brainwave states of sleep and hypnotic receptivity. The LIDA frequencies could be adjusted to keep people awake and agitated. Sending the opponent to sleep or veiling them withbeta frequencies (anxiety, cognitive activity, we do not sleep in beta) are both potential war-time advantages. [13] Insomnia was one of the first symptoms I experienced when I moved into a higher radiation exposure environment. In the 60s the Soviets beamed microwaves into the US embassy at exposure levels 500 times lower than US worker limits. [14] Evidence suggested chromosomal changes, haematological changes and increased cancer incidence in Moscow embassy employees compared to non-employees. [15]

Understanding biological effects of radiation, Russia mitigates harm to its citizens by regulating microwave radiation exposure limits 100 times lower than most other countries. They could reduce levels further however at least they’ve taken a technically feasible first step which allows for the continuation of the wireless paradigm until choosing to create a healthier system. In Australia we’ve recently called on the Prime Minister, Minister for Health, the Minister for Communications and President of the Australian Medical Association to reduce microwave radiation exposure limits by a factor 100.

Currently there is no recognition of microwave radiation as an environmental pollutant and one of multiple environmental factors contributing to health deterioration. Australia will have regulatory reviews later in 2016. This is the year to demand telcos turn down the ‘volume’ on the antenna tower in your suburb, reject smart meters and share awareness on the topic with local council, state and federal parliamentarians, school parent and teacher groups and friends. We went mainstream with the airing of an ABC Catalyst episode ‘Wi-Fried’. Word is getting out on this topic! Friends who have read Playing GOD Biological and Spiritual Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation are now unreachable on their mobile devices! A local school has switched off Wi-Fi. Our combined voices are making a dent!

Playing God: Biological and Spiritual Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation

A book by author Benjamin Nowland

Playing God - Biological and Spiritual Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation

Benjamin Nowland moved to inner city Sydney in 2013 and soon after experienced acute symptoms of electromagnetic radiation pollution sickness. His physical, mental and spiritual health were profoundly affected. The only place he functioned was away from Wi-Fi, towers and mobile devices in a Zero EMF Sanctuary.

In his search for truth, Ben questioned the suppression of scientific evidence. He asked why adverse health effects of Wi-Fi, mobile devices, and telco and NBN microwave towers are not shared with the public? Microwaves are altering our DNA, 24/7. What don’t telcos and mobile manufacturers want us to know?

In what he called the Sydney EMF Experiment he used himself as the subject to correlate effects of electromagnetic radiation. Insights were substantiated with extensive research. Tens of thousands of dollars in products and mainstream and alternative therapies were tested during his two-year journey.

In his book, Playing God: Biological and Spiritual Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation, Ben provides a streamlined path to discover the invisible, delivering clear revelations around electromagnetic radiation that will enable you to achieve optimal physical and mental health, and inspire empowered action.

Electromagnetic Radiation and Other Weapons of Mass Mutation

Abstract DNA background

Have the elite already become mutated versions of human beings?

Physicist and former military expert on microwave radiation, Barrie Trower has stated, “There are no safe levels of radiation.” Upon watching Barry Trower’s startling video interview (seen below,) it appears evident that the elite and their techno-nerd minions may already be mutants.

Among other things, Trower’s report includes consideration of the effects of cell phone andelectromagnetic radiation (EMR) on the brainwaves and development of children. Can we conclude that people who are constantly being bombarded by these pernicious EMRs no longer think as ‘normal’ human beings?

The brain of anyone who is surrounded by microwaves, RF radio frequencies, etc., confined in ‘control’ rooms, military, IT, financial, or whatever environment bombards them 24/7 with EMR electromagnetic radiation — is not going to function the same way as a brain in harmony with nature and the planet. Imagine living in one of those ‘smart’ houses where you are submerged in an ocean of WiFi high-tech remote-control of pretty much everything, from lighting and heating to the security gate, baby monitors, CCTV cameras and audiovisual equipment.

This powerful video explains the truth regarding microwave weaponry and other exotic weapons (psychotronic, electromagnetic, Radio Frequency, HAARP, GWEN towers, ELF waves) used by The United States & other nations worldwide. Furthermore, it explains why the Police State mentality is seemingly worldwide now. Dr Barrie Trower in a sit down interview tells all to ICAACT.

Neurological consequences

Contemplating the destructive effects from EMR on our brains, Nicholas Carr in, The Shallows, What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains, writes:

“The Net’s cacophony of stimuli short circuits both conscious and unconscious thought, preventing our mind from thinking deeply or creatively. …Heavy use has neurological consequences. …as the time we spend hopping across links, crowds out the time we devote to quiet reflection and contemplation, the [brain] circuits that support those old intellectual functions and pursuits weaken and begin to break apart. The brain recycles the disused neurons and synapses…”

Impede comprehension & retention

One wonders how this kind of entrainment by the machine will damage our capacity for any deep thinking. This ‘redirection of our mental resources,’ and ‘making judgements that are imperceptible to us,’ as Nicholas Carr says, have been shown to ‘impede comprehension and retention’. Carr quotes the German philosopher, Martin Heidegger, who back in the 1950s said:

“…the looming tide of [the] technological could so captivate, bewitch, dazzle and beguile man that calculative [quantitative] thinking may someday come to be accepted and practiced as the only way of thinking.”

The frenzy of quantity over quality, jumping from one focus to the next, using only a small part of the brain may destroy our capacity for quiet contemplation and meditation. The state of a calm and attentive mind cultivated in silence is the only source of all genuine creativity and innovation. Are these new masters of the universe – who we are in fact allowing the transformation of the very way our brains operate – are they true masters of their own consciousness, or are they some kind of mutants already?

chemtrails criss cross

Geoengineering & Chemtrails

Most human beings cannot believe that anyone could be so evil as to poison their own populations, permanently destroying the land & water, killing animals, birds & insects. This is the primary reason the majority still refuse to believe — even when we have seen chemtrails with our own eyes — and continue to deny that the skies are being sprayed with toxic aluminum, barium, strontium, and nano-particulates that suppress the immune system, make us sick, depressed, and cause dementia andADHD. What monsters would do such a terrible thing?

Perhaps understanding that EMR electromagnetic radiation mutates brain waves is the answer. Is the elite is so immersed in destructive radiation, so cut off from nature’s healing frequencies, and so obsessed with their own power games and greed that they no longer are ‘human’ in the sense we have always understood? Has the pervasive canopy of EMR destroyed the capacity for compassion and respect for life in the elite?

The ‘Signal’ to OBEY!

Consider the H.G. Wells story & film, The Time Machine that depicts a future where young humans are breed for food for the mutants in control. These young clueless innocents are allowed to live in a fool’s paradise until they are summoned by a ‘signal’ — perhaps emitted from a microwave tower — a ‘signal’ they have been entrained to obey. Obedience to the call of the frequency emitter draws them into an inescapable cavern where they are slaughtered for food or used as breeders for the reproduction of the mutant’s food supply. Is this where we are headed?

WHO Knew About Harm From Electromagnetic Radiation.

A shocking exposé on corruption within World Health Organization ranks, relating to scientific causality of harm from electromagnetic radiation (EMR)

Monday, February 3, 2014 was a very strange day in London. Only the weather was predictable. A cold rain fell as a dais of scientists faced a room full of reporters in the Royal Society Library’s Special Events Room on Carlton House Terrace. With its pillared roots going back to the 1600s, the Royal Society Library had welcomed scientists from all over the world for centuries.

whoflagOn this day, two scientists distinguished themselves as authors of the thick, glossy tome that was almost the biggest presence in the press briefing. Co-authors Prof. Bernard Stewart, Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales and Christopher Wild, PhD, Director of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) esteemedInternational Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) prepared to tell the world we are on the verge of a cancer tsunami. World Cancer Report 2014was nearly six years in the making. IARC is the cancer agency of the WHO, and a core part of their mission is to disseminate information on cancer. They gather information, frequently classify the risk level of various substances, and share that news with the world. This day the news was daunting.

Cancer rates are growing at such a rapid pace that we cannot treat our way out of this global health crisis. We must focus on prevention on a massive scale, Drs. Wild and Stewart announced to the gathering of just over 25 reporters. The human and economic catastrophe awaiting the world, with healthcare costs spiraling out of control, was described in great detail in the massive report these two men had just completed. The 650-page book, the first World Cancer Report since 2008, painted a dim picture for the world.

Reporters gathered at the press briefing heard the numbers and the implications were clear. 14,000,000 new cancer cases are being diagnosed worldwide each year, with that numberexpected to almost double over the next two decades to 22,000,000 new cases per year. Even the richest countries will struggle to cope with the spiraling costs of treating and caring for cancer patients. Of course the greatest burden will be borne by the lower income countries where numbers of new cases are expected to be the highest, and they are poorly equipped for the epidemic that is descending upon them. Over 60% of the global burden threatens Africa, Asia and Central and South America, where 70% of cancer deaths occur.

These were big numbers being delivered by the biggest name at IARC, Dr. Christopher Wild, the cancer agency’s director. A press release was issued worldwide, as well as to the roomful of reporters. “Despite exciting advances, the report shows that we cannot treat our way out of the cancer problem,” Dr. Wild announced. “More commitment to prevention and early detection is desperately needed in order to complement improved treatments and address the alarming rise in cancer burden globally.” Big numbers, big news, delivered by a very big name.

Yet the largest presence in the room that rainy day in early February was unannounced and unexpected. It was not a physician, nor a reporter, nor even a human being. Looming over the presumptively-esteemed scientists delivering the presumptively-comprehensive 650-page cancer report was an immense mammal whose thick skin hung in ripples of wrinkles descending to hoofed feet. There were four of them, instead of the two that steadied both Drs. Stewart and Wild.

Imagining the machinations that surely went on behind the scenes as decisions were made regarding what should be included in a major report focusing on the prevention of cancer amidst burgeoning numbers, one might have wondered if two feet were enough for Drs. Stewart and Wild. After all, it appears they had one foot each in profound truth, and one foot in denial. That is an unsteady posture indeed. A cynic might even say the esteemed scientists had one foot in truth and one foot in active concealment, a legal term describing when a party, in this case representatives of IARC and WHO, conceals information which they have a duty to disclose. Though the duty in this case may not have been legal, a case could surely be made for a moral obligation that was left unfulfilled. What did Dr. Christopher Wild of IARC and Dr. Bernard Stewart, a professor at University of New South Wales, fail to disclose?

While the elephant awaits introduction, standing tall and steady squarely in the middle of a room that could barely contain the uninvited guest, let us examine the very fine work Drs. Wild and Stewart did reference.

First, let’s start with the premise of the World Cancer Report 2014. Prevention is the only way out of this mess, and these two men know it. So what news could they and their team of experts share that we don’t already know about with respect to prevention of cancer? Drs. Wild and Stewart spoke to a hushed crowd. The reporters for The Guardian, The Independent, the BBC and all other major media outlets were busy scribbling down the wisdom the co-authors were imparting, namely, that alcohol, obesity, physical inactivity, and tobacco were all preventable causes of cancers.

One man was hushed, initially, for a reason other than jotting notes to be sent back to a news desk. That man was not a reporter, but rather a representative of a charity in the UK that had prevention as its primary goal. He had hurried to the London press conference at the request of his friendEileen O’Connor, Director of the UK’s Radiation Research Trust (RRT), a non-profit she and several others founded after Eileen found herself caught up in a cancer cluster in her tiny town of Wishaw in The Midlands section of England. A cellular telecommunications mast had loomed over the tiny hamlet for seven years before Eileen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, and once in the hospital, she started bumping into neighbors who were also there for chemotherapy. A campaign that led to the halls of Parliament was started, and along the way the Radiation Research Trust was formed.

Unable to make the press conference herself, Eileen turned to RRT’s trusted advisor who shared her deep concern about the growing radiation throughout the United Kingdom and all of Europe. The two had shared many long talks and Eileen had recently passed on the latest, brilliant epidemiological studies by Sweden’s Dr. Lennart Hardell showing increases in cancer in keeping with the rising number of cell phone users. The Advisor had arrived at the press conference sure that he would hear profound concern about the increasing “electrosmog” – as the rising tide of microwave radiation from cell phones, masts, towers, Wi-Fi, and smart meters is often referred to. Certainly the World Cancer Report 2014 listed this form of non-ionizing radiation as an area where greater exposure prevention would be urged.

The man had eagerly listened to the entire briefing by the esteemed co-authors. He had expected crystal clear insight from the two men who were entrusted with guiding the world on cancer prevention strategies in the face of an onslaught of rising numbers of new cancers. The risk factors contributing to the cancer crisis had been enunciated, one after another: tobacco, alcohol, obesity, physical inactivity . . . As reporters scribbled notes, the man suddenly felt alone in a room full of people. He had listened in vain for the words he had fully anticipated: RF radiation. Microwave radiation. Wireless gadgets from crib to grave. Nothing about it at all. Absolutely nothing.

His disappointment was palpable. The world knows tobacco, alcohol, obesity, and physical inactivity are contributors to disease, yet the only risk mentioned by Drs. Wild and Stewart that had been deeply associated with cancer in the public’s consciousness was smoking. And that news of tobacco’s carcinogenic effects was 70 years old, with warning labels first showing up on tobacco products in the US the same year The Beatles released their psychedelic rock album Revolver, and bell-bottoms were in vogue — for the first time. Some five decades later public policy throughout much of the U.S. and part of Europe had banned smoking in public places. Was smoking – along with alcohol, physical inactivity, and obesity, the latter two not even on the radar as suspected carcinogenic conditions, truly accounting for 14,000,000 new cases of cancer a year with that number predicted to grow to 22,000,000 new cases per annum over the next two decades?

The RRT Advisor quelled his disappointment and listened even more closely, a sliver of hope remaining that Drs. Wild and Stewart were saving the worst for last. After all, what other technology had taken over the planet with such explosive force, with seven billion cell phones in use on a planet with more cell phones than people, $2 trillion in annual revenues, and accounting for 5.8 percent of the global GDP. [Razorsight 2012] What else could be contributing so heavily to 14,000,000 new cancers around the globe annually?

When it came to the subject of radiation, there was mention of the sun, but this was nothing new, either. Still there were no precautionary warnings regarding RF (microwave) radiation that powers mobile phones, Wi-Fi, smart meters, laptops and mobile mast or cell towers. Not a single mention. How could that be?

This was when the Advisor’s incredulity allowed him to see what apparently all the reporters missed. And what they missed was apparent not only by their lack of intellectual curiosity in pinning down Drs. Wild and Stewart, but also in their superficial reporting which was to come out in the days and weeks following the press conference. It was during the lack-luster question and answer phase that Eileen O’Connor’s trusted and highly disappointed Advisor truly noticed the presence no one else in the room appeared to be aware of. It was the giant Pachyderm – the proverbial Elephant in the Room, and the Advisor, well-bred man that he is, could hold his tongue no longer.

The Advisor announced to the panel of scientists that he was there on behalf of the UK’s Radiation Research Trust. He squarely addressed the presence of the enormous and rare species standing silently, and to all others invisibly, next to him. “We seem to have an Elephant in the Room,” the Advisor offered.

He then stated the known: IARC, the International Agency on Research for Cancer – the very sub-group of the World Health Organization that sponsored the report, had classified RF (microwave) radiation and everything on the RF – EMF Spectrum a 2B or “possible human” carcinogen in May of 2011. He further stated that a major minority of the May 2011 IARC Working Group, based on the scientific evidence, did not want a 2B “possible human” carcinogen status for RF radiation, but rather the more serious classification of 2A, meaning a probable human” carcinogen.

The Advisor then proceeded to state the unknown: “What was the future trajectory of this RF-EMF Spectrum classification given new science that had come along since May of 2011?” the gentleman queried. “Since Dr. Lennart Hardell, the scientist whose science was considered as part of the 2B classification, had come out in 2013 and said the classification should now be Group 1, meaning RF radiation is a known human carcinogen, might IARC upgrade the RF Spectrum to 2A, or even Group 1 – a known carcinogen?” Catching a quick breath, he continued, “In short, RF radiation causes cancer, the concern among independent scientists appears to be growing, and what does the panel see as a potential for upgrading the warning about RF radiation’s status as a carcinogen?”

Dr. Christopher Wild responded to the gentleman mounting the challenge, saying he was a part of that Working Group in May 2011 and up to this point in time there was “no new evidence which suggests there is any cause for concern.”

Prof. Bernard Stewart attempted to further defuse the Advisor’s identification of the Elephant in the Room by saying there was a “mention” of RF radiation in the report and “we are aware.” The Advisor later found “the mention” around page 140 – in a report of 650 pages.

The RRT Advisor stood his ground. He told the scientists he had been investigating the dangers around microwave radiation through Wi-Fi and mobile phones for a number of years and he has found there is clear evidence of serious health risks. Then as if raising the elephant’s trunk himself and trumpeting the truly unspoken, the Advisor reminded the panel they were in a great position to prevent many cancers, and that many people are falling ill.

An uncomfortable shift could be felt in the room. The Advisor asked one final question: “Would Drs. Wild and Stewart have a problem with people of all ages being exposed to RF radiation 24/7?” Dr. Stewart voiced his opinion in a professorial fashion, “I would have no problem at all.”

Neither the scientists nor the reporters spoke. A line in the sand had been drawn by Drs. Wild and Stewart and their massive report. The RF Spectrum is not a sufficient risk at this time to deserve a place alongside inactivity, obesity, the sun, alcohol and smoking – at least according to Drs. Wild and Stewart. It was as if the “The Great Oz” had spoken and a curtain was about to be drawn.

But wait . . . We are rapidly approaching the third anniversary of one of IARC’s most historic votes. This was the 2B “human carcinogen” classification for everything on the RF – EMF Spectrum. And it was not a close vote. It was unanimous, but for one dissenter whose identity has been kept secret by the 30 IARC scientists. What is not secret is the fact that the U.S. National Cancer Institute’s Peter Inskip left the meeting early and did not return in time for the vote.

For all intents and purposes, IARC came out with a unanimous vote on a hotly debated subject. Does RF (microwave) radiation cause cancer? This esteemed committee is saying it may cause cancer in humans. Nearly-unanimous speaks volumes. Who led this erudite group? Who was head of the committee when this vote heard around the world was taken? It was none other than Dr. Christopher Wild, the man seated at the dais, the co-author of the World Cancer Report 2014 – a report which failed to list RF radiation as a preventable carcinogen.

New way to predict power faults.

Melbourne researchers have invented and patented a way of detecting and locating potential electrical faults along large stretches of power line before they occur.

The invention was inspired by a boyhood interest in electric fishes, such as the black ghost knifefish.

The patented detection system, already being employed by local electricity companies, could help prevent the major discharges that lead to sparking and blackouts, says Dr. Alexe Bojovschi, a post-doctoral fellow in electrical and computer engineering at RMIT University.

“Internationally, this is very important. Last year, blackouts left 620 million people in India without power for a couple of days and cost the US economy more than US$120 billion. Electric sparking has been blamed for major bushfires in Australia.”

Alexe is one of 12 early-career scientists unveiling their research to the public for the first time thanks to Fresh Science, a national program sponsored by the Australian Government through the Inspiring Australia initiative.

He says he got the idea on how the electromagnetic signatures of potential faults could travel in the power networks from the ability of electric fishes to transmit and receive electromagnetic radiation.

Our power networks, many of which were built at least 50 years ago, are ageing and deteriorating just at the time when they are being overloaded with new appliances, Alexe says. “All it takes is a salt deposit or a build-up of lichen to provide a conductive path on an insulator, and you enhance the likelihood of electrical discharges.”

The patented wireless sensing technology can be mounted to the power poles to detect the discharge signature in the power network. The sensors can be used to locate the fault point by translating the time of arrival of the signature into a measure of distance.

Alexe and his project managers Associate Professors Alan Wong and Wayne Rowe have established a company, IND Technology (www.ind-technology.com.au), to commercialise the system.

At present, IND Technology is offering the technology as an early-fault-detection service to electricity companies in Victoria online 24 hours a day. “The system provides a dynamic picture of the health of their power networks,” Alexe says. “But this is a worldwide issue, so the company has the potential to expand globally.”
